262:31 Authority To Take

An authorized official may take a vehicle into his custody and may cause the same to be taken away and stored at some suitable place only as provided in this subdivision.

i had my car towed from my apartment because no sticker on windshield, but had my windshield replaced a few days prior, but had a handicap tag present on my rear view mirror and was parked in proper spot. as far as i knew isn’t it illeagal to tow a vehicle under those circumstances?
